Pre Exchange Training is an event that is held by SCORE CIMSA UI in order to prepare research exchange outgoing. The training materials consist of introduction about IFMSA & SCORE research exchange, bioethics, intercultural learning, global health, travel tips & tricks, communication skill, testimonials from former outgoing, and many more. The aim of the training is to provide outgoings with sufficient knowledge about research exchange and increase outgoings’ motivation for research exchange, since both knowledge and motivation are important in maximizing research exchange experience.
SCORE CIMSA UI’s Pre Exchange Training was held in two days, 12th and 13th December 2020. The first day started with a presentation by Local Officer in Research Exchange, Theodora Megumi, about Basic SCORE Research Exchange which explain about administrative process of exchange. The second presentation was presented by the same speaker about Basic Bioethics and Intercultural Learning. In this presentation, it was stated the importance of ethical principles in order to prevent ethical misconduct. Lastly, we invite Vice NORE for Internal Affair, Saskia Ratna Desita, as the speaker for Global Health presentation.
On the second day, it started with a presentation from dr. Kevin Varian Marcevianto who is a former outgoing from Poland. The presentation topic was Testimony Research Exchange and Communication Skill: How to be Proactive in Communication During Research Exchange. From this talk, outgoing could be aware about the importance of being proactive especially when something goes wrong. The second presentation talks about Testimony Research Exchange and Time Management Between Research & Travel by Riana Putri Moegandi who is a former outgoing from Czech Republic. With this, outgoing could know how to adequately prepare for traveling during research exchange. The next session was Mini-Problem Based Learning about problem faced during research exchange. In this session, outgoing tried to solve the problem and then speakers clarified the answer. Problems consist of passive exchange liaison officer, confusing research project, and hidden SCOPE research exchange. Hereby, outgoing was prepared to solve the problem incase it happen to them in the future research exchange.
The training went well and the outgoings were very enthusiasthic about the topic of each speakers seeing that there were a lot of question from outgoings and the posttest result was excellent. Through this training, we wish that SCORE CIMSA UI outgoings could gain a lot of new perspective and knowledge from our valuable speakers.
