Throughout the world, many teens and young adults do not pay attention to what they consume and their lifestyle. As shown by the questionnaires given before conducting SEMASA, our research shows that the majority of the respondents don’t have proper meal time, do not have breakfast, lack of consumption of vegetables and fruits but instead consume sweets and junk foods at a higher frequency, lack of exercise and inadequate sleep which suggests that a healthy lifestyle hasn’t been applied yet. SEMASA, “Senang Makan Sehat” aims at raising the dangers of obesity caused by the unhealthy lifestyle in juveniles and encourages them to start applying healthy living as a part of their lifestyle. The range of activities done in order to fulfil this goal includes Air Campaigns, Workout Sessions and a One-Day Festival consisting of Piloxing, Festival Booths which has 4 activities, Self Reflection, Games Session, Cooking Demo with Pasar Sayoor and a limited-seat consultation about nutrition with doctors who are Nutrition Specialists, and finally as the climax of the event, a Talkshow which focused on Obesity, Nutrition and the application of healthy lifestyle on teenagers and young adults was held with 3 remarkable speakers as our spokespeople, dr. Nurul Ratna Mutu Manikam, MGizi, SpGK; Dewi Astuti, S.GZ, MKM; Ekida Rehan Firmansyah.
The majority of the participants states that by attending SEMASA they could reflect more on what was wrong with their diet and focus on improving that aspect, finding a recipe on healthy foods without removing its deliciousness, what are the things needed to start applying healthy lifestyle as well as the motivation and lastly regarding obesity, its dangers and how to prevent it. Through this event, we hope that our participants could get a better understanding of nutrition, the dangers that obesity can cause, how the application of healthy lifestyle can turn our lives for the better. As a token of appreciation, we hope that the participants can use the voucher given by one of our partners. Yellow Fit Kitchen, as a platform to jumpstart their way to modifying their diet into a healthier one. Together we can end obesity and improve our quality of life.
